‘Adrian Sherwood presents Dub No Frontiers’, released 22 July via Real World Records, is a platform for some of the great international female artists currently operating to unite and celebrate in dub, and is inspired by and features female vocalists the On-U Sound producer, and brainchild behind the project, knew from the UK or had met while travelling around the world.
The first track to be released from the project, ‘Meri Awaaz Suno (Hear My Voice)’, is written and performed by Rita Morar, who was introduced to Adrian by Asian Dub Foundation’s John Pandit G. For Morar, Dub No Frontiers felt like the perfect fit. “As an independent female artist I wanted to write something that conveyed both my vulnerability and my strength, how through our music we are uplifted and become empowered.” . Rita was invited by Raj Baddhan of Sabras Radio to perform live for the very first time in Leicester for the their Diwali Mela. Rita shared with the crowd a couple of Bollywood songs as well as her own music. The experience was greatly received.

Rita Morar is set to release her fourth single called ‘SIGNS (feat. Sound Shikari)’ on Friday 29 JUNE 2018. With ethereal sounds embedded in this dark dubstep version, Rita felt that Sound Shikari captured the true emotion of the track. Rita explains, ‘SIGNS can take on many dimensions and can be interpreted in many ways. I always have been moved by Sound Shikari’s music so I knew that he would approach the song in a compassionate way to bring out the feeling of loss and hope. With the haunting santoor sounds along with firm beat and bass, listening to this fusion blows my mind every time’.

After capturing the audience with her second single release ‘Let Me Know’ ft. MAAN which reached no.4 on the iTunes World Genre chart in October 2016, Rita Morar is set to release her third single called ‘HARI HARI BOL’ on Thursday 30 November 2017.
Originally a 30 second sample on her Soundcloud page in 2015, ‘Hari Hari Bol’ gained attention by captivating listeners including BBC Radio presenter Nihal who requested Rita to develop this devotional chant sample into a longer version for radio. This achievement helped ‘Hari Hari Bol’ to be featured as Track of the Week in June 2015 on BBC Asian Network on Nihal’s daytime radio programme.
Written and produced by Rita, ‘Hari Hari Bol’ will be released with a feature video shot in India by Keevan Morar. Rita explains, ‘this song is important to me as through devotional singing at an early age, I found my voice. The video is equally as special because the audience shall witness first hand footage from our ‘yatra’ (pilgrimage) in India, which took place in Rishikesh, Haridwar and Varanasi. Timing could not be any more appropriate for us and moments like these may never be witnessed again. I am just very fortunate this linked together in a raw and beautiful way’.

After the success of Let Me Know, Rita returns with her 3rd release called 'Hari Hari Bol' which is a devotional song. Originally a sample on Soundcloud, Rita turned this music into a full version by request of Nihal (BBC radio) for it to feature as track of the week on BBC Asian Network in 2015. Official release will be on 30th November 2017 and a iTunes pre-order link shall be available from 7th November 2017. Rita was invited to BBC Asian Network to perform an early morning live session for the Gagan Grewal Breakfast Show. The performance was received well by many and the support for Rita was shown throughout live tweets and links being shared. When Rita was asked to be part of an event called 'I Am Me Live' hosted by Apache Indian and organised by the great Asjad Nazir of Eastern Eye, she instantly knew it would be a success. The message was to promote to younger generations to help encourage pathways for them to share their confidence and art and be inspired by the many of the artists that came together on the night. Rita performed an exclusive unplugged version of 'Teardrops' with Tazzz and Raxstar which blew the audience away.

Rita's new colloboration with Naamless is released on 'The Heights Ep'. The track is called 'Sajana' which is Rita's first full hindi track. The EP features a ray of great artists including Abbas Hassan, Navin Kundra, Kiran Dhanoa, Swami Baracus, Shah Rule and A.Tee. Supported by Eastern Electronic Festival, Rita was given the chance to lead the Bollygood Jollygood Music Workshop Tour in the West Midlands. The Eastern Electronic Festival promotes social engagement and well-being to older people through community supported participation in musical activities through its outreach programme of workshops.
Bollygood Jollygood offered the opportunity and the inspiration for older residents to recapture their musical youth and unleash their musical talents to take part in a Bollywood sing-a-longs. The day was a success and a lot was learnt by Rita. In 2011 Rita was chosen as an emerging artist for the first EEF. Ever since then, they have played an integral part in Rita's development in her musical journey providing opportunities to progress.
